FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

ARE THE RESULTS RELIABLE?

Yes. Our laboratories are leading independent providers of clinical laboratory diagnostic services which provide consultancy services to both the NHS and Private Sectors. All laboratories are fully registered with the two laboratory accreditation bodies in the UK. Accreditation recognises standards of quality.

UK Good Laboratory Practice Monitoring Authority [UK GLP MA] is recognised by the Government as the national accreditation body. UK GLP MA accreditation means that the laboratory has been successfully assessed against internationally recognised requirements for integrity and competence.

Clinical Pathology Accreditation [CPA] is the benchmark for clinical pathology laboratories in the UK.

In addition, the laboratories undergo extensive Quality Control and Quality Assurance by regular audits and inspections of the laboratory functions to assure the quality of the data generated and to ensure compliance to the required standards (e.g. GXP, CPA, ISO 9000 series).

External Quality Assessment [EQA] is the process whereby a laboratory's analytical performance is assessed with respect to its peers using analytical material obtained from an external provider such as a United Kingdom National External Quality Assessment Scheme (UKNEQAS).

Furthermore all laboratories are medically led by Doctors who are Consultant Pathologists. The results they provide are further analysed and interpreted by our own team of Doctors in light of your individual medical history.
